Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
Winter was casually crossing the street, never mind the fact that it wasn't her turn, that the beasts that humans appeared to have tamed screeched about her, narrowly missing her and blaring loud noises that sounded like a siren's scream. This world was strange, being the time traveller that she was, she belonged in another time. Back when cannibalism was just good surival insincts, when a protecter was veiwed as ignorant and dumb. Apparently, in this world, a protecter was called a hero, given a cape and slapped upside the back continusly in praise.
A strange world indeed.
A thick mist settled in, and Winter narrowed her eyes in thought as it seeped into every seam of the scenery. To thick to see through, and the crashes behind her sounded dangerously close. Metal scraping against metal tore at her hearing, and Winter merely thought dimisively at what an annoyance it was, instead of the lives lost. Truly, emotion was such a little weakness, and any and all weaknesses needed to be gone. In the world she used to live in, if someone saw your weakness before you did, they would not hesitate to pounce. There were no ethics in the world, just actions.
No one was hero, and everyone's tale was the same. They all wanted the same thing, the only difference, was what others would do to get it. Winter laughed openly at those who considered themselves honorable, or stood up for the weak, did that make her a villian? Cracking a slight smile, Winter rolled to the side as a vehicle came crashing into her vision. With screaming brakes, it drifted out of her veiw, and Winter on the ground stood, dusting herself off and swearing in a language that translated for no one, as no one had gone to her planet and survived. Hearing a loud scream that sounded as if tons were dragging against the ground with grasping claws, Winter slowly looked up with a sad sigh.
It was a giant truck, blaring it's horn and leading two heavy containers. The back of the small train slide, sliding as far ahead to the side as it could. The driver was unseen in the mist, and the sparks coming from the many wheels gave a fantasy feel to the whole situation. Nearly tipping, the containers leaned forwards in the sudden appliance of the brakes. Winter didn't hesitate, didn't move, just turned with a small smile towards the vehicle and roared.
Jumping, she lifted her legs to lightly land upon the hood of the vehicle. Running along the roof, she kept her footsteps quick, light and small, feeling the cold metal beneath the cloth of her boot. The driver turned the wheel every which way to try to keep out of the crash that loomed ahead. To no avail. With a well timed bound, Winter flipped in the air and landed on her feet in the middle of the road, having run over the small train completly. Smirking, Winter took a cocky bow to an imaginary audience.
She would, of course, be here all century long.
Her boots clattered as she stepped, the plate mail clinking against the other layers and rustling together as her foot hit the pavement. The very bottom was black thick cloth, and it lay over her foot as a shoe would. Over top, hanging around her ankles were to layers of unbendable plate mail, attached to a plate mail boot that climbed mid thigh, leaving a joint for her to bend her knee and such. The boots were stained red in splatters, and a black buckle ran behind her thigh and buckled in the side to hold them in place. Underneath was legging that were furry and dark red in color. Over top of her hips was a loose brown leather belt, attached in place by two buckles on the opposite sides of her hips. A once white and long skirt was now tattered and torn to shreads, blowing in the wind to show that they only fell to the top of her thighs, stained deep red. The center portion of the skirt was long and draped down to just above her knees, swaying in time with her movements. A pouch was attached beneath her stomach, lightly decorated and small in size.
Her stomach was bare, showing a few battle scars that hadn't been repaired and medicated fast enough to not scar. She wore a black bra across her chest, lined in white and colored nearly black in it's deep red. Over top was a dark golden necklace that was so thick and large in size that it seperated, wrapping itself around her neck, and climbing underneath her arms, melding to the top of the armor seamlessly. On her left shoulder was a panther's head in likeness, with it's mouth agape to show it's fearsome jaws. Her left arm was more clad with armor then the right, and layers of plate mail over lapped one another to give her full range of deep red motion. Beneath it all, she wore black gloves that made her fingers appear featureless and slender that climbed up into her upper arms. The right arm had no plate mail armor, save for a white designed plate upon the back of her wrist.

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
Oh, he was a red headed man. A tall one with blue eyes and a gaze that didn't match his body. You could always tell more about a person through their eyes, where they held their gaze, and how long they glanced upon the world around them. If they merely scanned, then the world no longer interested them, which meant that they had aged farther then the face showed. Which happened more often then one would think. Ugh, his eyes were blue. She hated carrots with blue eyes. Other then that, however, he didn't pay the world much mind and she noticed a bit of near amusement.
It wouldn't have suprised her if he had been the one to make the fog.
"I am Winter." Winter smiled, her shark teeth poking out from the edge of her lips and showing quite clearly in the nearly found light. He must not have noticed, as he contintinued towards her with an accusing look. Little actor, she nearly would have fallen for it if she had known she wasn't the one to actually cause such chaos. Her eyes were white with black slits, and she gave the world such an uncaring glance that her eyes were far to old for her young face. Of course, she looked 23, but in reality, she was nearly 10,000
"Ooh, Indeed. I have done this act of evil. Can you not tell by my smile? Mwah haha." Winter turned her head to the sky, arms out with a typical disney villian evil laugh, comeplete with 'evil' arm gestures. "Death, chaos..." Winter put her hands on her hips with a smile, and a nod in agknowledgment "Sounds like fun." Monster.
That part hurt.
Hot coals burning and branding her soul, and her expression remained as emotionless and poker face as usual. No one would know that monster hurt. There was a time when her humanity made her strive to stay kind, stay as human as she could. But, she realised that it only made her weaker with time, and Winter tore off the binding ethics of humanity. Ethics didn't matter, in the end, nothing mattered.
I am a monster. A cruel one at that. Winter repeated over and over in her own mind, turning it nearly into a chant until the pain stopped coming. The words overlapped one another, and it only took her a few split seconds for her to finally accept that little fact.
She was a monster. And she liked it that way.

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
The boy was a good actor, but, it was just a bit to easy to believe. He as slipping into the role of a typical, frightened human.. But, humans always tried to hide their fear in one way or another, especially when they felt themselves justified and thought that a mob would follow them blindly. This one, however, not only seemed quite open with his fear but also seemed to display it quite loudly and dramatically. A common sign of putting on a performace.
She had to hand it to him. He was quite good.
"Actually, no. I do not intend to murder you. Your womanly screams are giving me a headache." Rubbing her head with a hand, she felt a cutting headache start to appear. It was the same way with children cries, they gave her such a headache with their bickering and immature cries for attention. Winter was perfectly fine to play along, laughing slightly at his antics even. She was mocking him. Plain and simple, and it seemed that he was just going along with it. Both of them new what really happened.
"I did this, because I am unkind, cruel and quite honestly, human life means nothing to me. Anymore questions?" Winter smirked, mocking him in her tone and finding amusement in his played fear. It was so nearly believable, that Winter found herself grinning her shark like teeth poked beneath her lips.
"Will you run away now?"

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
Oh, her head was splitting, and needless to say, it was not putting her in a good, patient mood. At first she was wondering if her head had nicked the edge of the mechanical beast as it passed, and as she flipped. But, of course, that was a silly notion. Winter hadn't failed on her acrobatics, she had the best balance and never failed on acrobatics at all.
Hence, it must be the whiney child, man, thing.
"No one is ready when they die. 'Tis why the word is such a short one!" Winter laughed, her shark teeth showing quite plainly. They were pointed, sharp and completly white. They appeared as little triangles where teeth would usually be.
"The Avengers? What a hilarous name. Might as well wander around with 'Teletubbies, X-treme' printed across their chest. I shall assume they are the 'good guys'." Winter sighed, her tone going from projecting to him, to nearly speaking to herself. "I die for a few hundred years, and suddenly everything has gone mad." Winter paused and looked over at the man, he seemed close at a heart attack.
"Take a breath. Take five. I am not killing you, unless you speak in that whimpery whine once more. Ok? Good we understand each other. Now, turn 'ahtaa boy.. And run." Winter wished the game they were playing was over already, and she could really meet the one behind this little plan.
She wanted to know how he'd done it, made that fog appear, and above all, she wanted to know more about these 'Avengers'. His whiney tone, and bickering mouth had her resenting nearly everything he said. Perhaps she'd have to ask another person who knew. Of course, making it sound like she wasn't the curious woman, that she was.
If there was another force out there to stop her, that was a danger. She needed to know.
(don't worry about it, I understand and mine isn't all that long right now either XD)

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
Winter's eye twitched.
"What the-? I am being kind! Look at me! Polite, refined! And still you play the panicked man. Bah. I give up. Sophistication is over rated." Winter remarked, clearly quite bored with the man who managed to fall onto his back. Stepping over him, she simply started to walk away.
Oh what a waste of a conversation that was. She had taken such an interest in him, in the information he held upon his fingertips. But, it seemed he was to inclined to play the frightened human, starved for attention and she could not help but wonder why the role was so very appealing. To a human, they simply slipped into the role. But that man hadn't a reason in the world to fear her. Immediatly after the mist appeared, he'd accused her. He had no evidence, not any proof and absolutly no reason to think it was her doing.
Thus, it had to have been him! She quite wanted to know how he'd managed it, she'd never seen anything of the sort. Though, of course, she'd heard the tales of 'magic' before. Only a fool hadn't heard of them, but surely. That was merely fiction? The mindless babble of a frenzied mind? Oh, if the universe had more secrets. She wanted to know them, the curiousity drove her mad.
Well, more mad.
And those Avengers. She'd have to look into them.
Winter was tired of talking to a man who was just going to squeal like a fat pig. Perhaps he was worthless after all. Winter kept walking until her feet cleared the mist, and the sky was bright upon her gaze. Baring her futurekind teeth, she shot the sun a glare.
Damn thing was to bright.
Back on Malcassairo, she'd never had that problem.
(this can be the end of the topic, or he can follow her. Your choice.)

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
A black haired woman rushed to meet her and words tumbled out of her mouth. Blabbering, tossed aside carelessly. Did she not know how hard it was to translate, when such people insisted upon speaking in such a manner? From the way humans addressed on another, it was supposed to command respect, be authoritive, demand answers. To Winter it merely started to piss her off.
And when she was angry..
She got funny.
"Tell you what, big breasts. If I did fit in here, I would topple over forwards." Winter passed the woman a judging eye, glancing from her feet to her face. Really, she had some nice curves, but nothing to fully brag about. Winter herself had what humans so constantly told her 'an attractive body'. Really, it was just how one looked. Why fuss about such things? Winter was far from flat chested, but the truth of the situation was that most of the humans she passed by on the street were far to large to be practical.
"Ooh, 'strange mist'" Winter frowned mockingly, nodding her head with a shrug.
"Sounds spooky, does it not? I would suggest you go generally," Winter pointed towards the direction of the mist "That a way, and ask around."
"Careful though, small ass. There are a lot of cars crashing, so.. Wave your arms back and forth when you walk in!" Winter laughed.

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
Winter yawned wide, this woman was boring her to much, and the idea of ripping out her pretty little throat was becoming far more tempting with each passing word she spoke. But, as time wore on in her life time, she'd gained a very. Very good trick. A shiny trick, a very irreplacable trick.
A way to tell when someone was older then they were letting on. There was always something in the eyes. Humans, were always wide with innocence. It was funny, cute, almost that they always insisted that their lives were so very terrible, but really, how terrible could one's life become in the eighty years it was lived? It was nothing to amount what could happen in a few thousand years. Humans were like little teenagers, whining and complaining about the loss of something small.
Cute. But annoying.
Now, the trick was, to be able to tell when someone had seen a bit more then their facial features would let on. The woman standing in front of her was between twenty five and thirty years of age. She should be having a hint of doubt in her gaze, or perhaps the look of a sulky child.
Oh, but this person was skilled at hiding her expression. Winter tilted her head, to busy to think of a quick remark for that breasts comment. A sharp retort was always on her tongue, and she didn't have to think of one before hand. Actually, now that she was thinking about it. This woman was just as skilled as the man that had accused her of causing the mist that crashed all of those cars. Winter, frankly, was far more interested in how the mist was created then the lives that would be lost in the crashes.
It wasn't quite like she'd left a poker face on for to long, it was just that it didn't quite match up to the age of the face. She could easily tell that the woman waas trying, and she supposed that the woman would have gotten away with it on anyone else.
Shame Winter was nearly ten thousand, really. A shame.
"You. Are not who you say you are. You speak formally, and your eyes do not match your face." Winter mused aloud, watching the woman. Her own face was completely expressionless and her eyes were far to old for her features. Like she'd seen tragidiy, victory, and time. Lots. And lots of time.
"As for your previous comments, a woman who is not confident in such things, would not be a woman at all! I do so love insults, indeed. And I am keen on getting you to leave me alone, because I am very, very, very sick of being lied to. That feeling someone gets, the one that comes with age. That someone is lying to you. Gets. On. My. Damn. Nerves." Winter snapped, teeth bared as she spoke to show the triangle teeth that poked from beneath her lips when she spoke. Instead of having those blunt teeth that humans and humanoids had, she had shark teeth, a single row of triangle shaped teeth for tearing flesh.
Yum.

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
Winter arched an eyebrow.
And burst into laughter.
Throwing her head back, Winter's short white hair fell around itself messily, and she laughed. Oh, she laughed hard.
"You lie." Winter's laughter stopped as soon as it had started, and she looked at the woman in front of her very seriously. Oh, the woman was such a liar! But, her lies were more telling then the woman seemed to think. The armor would not have been imagined by someone who had never worn such before, they were to well made, and evenly stitched and formally worn. The woman seemed comfortable in them, which meant they were worn fairly often.
If the woman was indeed from another world, being an undercover agent, she wouldn't have announced so. And even if she did, she would have flashed Winter a badge of one way or another. Or ranted about rank, power, or their boss or how important their work was.
What was interesting, was that whatever world that woman came from, furs were worn, despite obvious advances in the technology field. Winter hadn't noticed any gadgets or inventions on the woman's belts, and no pockets were bulged with contents.
The woman didn't have an invention on her. Wasn't using science to change her appearance.
She didn't need it.
...
Well ok then. Winter thought, inwardly shrugging.
So, if this woman was the kind to wear furs, and was capable of what seemed almost to be magick, in one way or another, she was likely to have a weapon! But, no. No sword was tied to her belt, and Winter took notice towards the details of the armor.
It looked like the same as ancient Norse armor.
Now, there was an idea. If a woman walked the earth, changing forms, dressed in armours.
She was going to make an impact!
Maybe, even praise them as gods
Behind Winter's eyes she started to sort through all of the ancient norse gods. In total, there were fifty eight, including the very minor characters of their folk lore. Immediatly, she started sorting through these characters to try to find which ones would take amusement in walking the earth, and causing mischeif.
Mischief.
Oh that was just her luck.
Then again.. It could be for revenge on someone else...
Besides, the god of mischief was not a woman.
Winter watched the woman walk around her, and immediatly knew that the woman's swagger was not natural. Hesitation in the ankles and a bit to much hip movement for an average female. Like someone was over compensating slightly.
Oh so damn slightly.
Winter watched, and noticed that the swagger was how a man would probably imagine a woman to walk. Something a bit to feminine. Over compensation.
Oh, it was man.
DAMN IT
"I am far more a woman then you, Oh, and fitting in? Over rated." Winter walked around The Man, taking in the small details of the armor and noticing small little details that validated her previous thinking. Winter's thoughts had merely run in the background, in split seconds. To anyone else, it would simply look like she had snapped a response as quick as the wind.
"All the best people are insane." Winter chuckled deeply, shrugging as though she couldn't care less.
-Right, so Winter is extremly old, and I tried to show all of her thinking here, and even gave her some doubts that her muse didn't have. If you do not think that it's fair that a ten thousand year old woman deducted this, I can change the post to your liking instead.

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
"Do I now? I shall have to take your word for it, as I have absolutely no idea what you speak of, and in fact, am fairly certain you are slightly insane" Winter gave the woman, man, mutant, thing a judging look, head to toe, looking for any errors in the form that could show Winter more clues about the person who stood before her. Oh, usually she couldn't be bothered with such things. Couldn't be bothered to turn her head to meet those that walk before her, much less those who so obviously kept their secrets guarded. But, Winter had spent so much time travelling the universe, so much so that she'd lost interest. Growing depressed, and bored with it's 'wonders'. And then saunters in a man, woman, mutant, THING that could change it's own form at a mere thought and didn't age! It sparked her long dead interest in the world, and her interests were not peaked, per say. As, if he, she, it turned and walked away Winter would merely be on her own way as well. No, her interest wasn't peaked, she was just mildly curious. A mere passing interest!
"Ha! My 'choice of clothing'? Hmm? Frankly, so long as I do not needlessly hop up and down, I doubt it affects you directly. As for my hair style, it gets in my way in any other styling." Winter shrugged, eyes trained on this person in study. Oh, there was something off about this person, thing, mutant. Something she hadn't noticed before, some insignificant little detail that had missed her eye, but not all of her acute senses.
"Are you so hypocritical you do not see that you stand out amung the prey just as much as I?" Winter mused, chuckling slightly, showing her alien teeth pricking between lips as she spoke.

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
Winter glanced to the side, noticing the a thick fog roll in. It was so heavy that is seemed almost a solid form, rolling around the both of them in a fasion that would have overtaken the both of them completely. That is, if it didn't stop in a perfect circle around them, creeping in such a pace that it crashed against an invisible wall. Basically confessing to such things, the man, woman, thing paced in front of her, annoyingly going around and around, Winter was quite sorely tempted to trip him, she, it.
When it's form changed, shimmered and melted into a different appearance completely. The first time, she'd missed it. The woman form had been behind her when she had changed into the furs and armors, after all. Now, Winter hid her emotions well. She was to old to be shocked by such things, to old to care about such things, to old to be fairly curious about a random, fog summoning, transvestite stranger! And so she wasn't, she forced her emotions to obey her command, and under a steel fist, kept them all beneath a heavy cloak.
The man that whoever it was morphed into, Winter quite decided that though the person was in fact, a man in truth, she hadn't quite decided to this point if he was in fact a name she new. Winter knew for certain that whoever it was had advanced technology, science, and assumably, medicine. And, as such, wore Norse styled armor, which showed of course, that the Norse had based it off of a society, or specific person that appeared and displayed 'god' like powers. Mistaking them for 'gods'
So, by that logic, one of the Norse male names should be the person's name. As, the person was no doubt a male, as he really brought disgrace to feminine swaggers. She supposed that she could ask for a name, but oh, it had challenged her! The very idea had challenged her to solve the little riddle!
He continued to pace around her, coming to a stop behind her. Winter rolled her eyes briefly, and turned around with a smirky sort of grin.
"A better one." Winter answered, being her own cryptic self. Winter held her secrets to her heart tightly, it wasn't that she found them to be such treasures it was more that she doubted the other person would care to learn such things. And even if they did, they would only had them off to one another, losing interest in Winter's tales, and leaving her to become forgotten.
Besides, it wasn't any of their buisness anyway.
Winter supposed she was a broken woman, childish in nature, heartless in love, and painful in memory. In the past, she had been persuaded to trust another, to fall in love and confide her very secrets, to show herself to another, instead of throwing on facade after facade like a vain woman threw on clothings.
Eventually, her facades became who she was. Changing her facade to entertain herself, changing it per day, and doing what she pleased, or what she didn't, if that was so the case. Things changed about her, but certain traits remained the same about her. Cracks in her armor. Showing her real self on accident,
So she learned. And she put up more facades, more diguises, became something she never thought she would be. But, that was nothing that Winter worried herself to badly with,
She survived.
Let time do what it would. Humming lightly 'ring around the rosie' Winter held out a well timed foot, aiming to trip the man who paced around her so.
"In some cultures, that counts as dancing." Winter chuckled.

Please don't worry about matching my post, Winter got excited that Loki's being relatively friendly.

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
It couldn't be a natural give away that his eyes did not match the rest of himself. He was laughing, amused and seeming to match his expression, good natured and charismatic, it seemed a contagious kind of laugh. The eyes, however, were far from such things of enjoyment and hilarity, they were quite cold, devoid of emotion.
Winter wondered if she looked like that at times. She laughed, chuckled, and took amusement from such things, but, she was told that her eyes never truly matched her expression. Despite, of course, how often she spent with her face in a mirror to prevent such windows into a portion of her own mind that Winter no longer to interest in. She was aware, that a very small portion, perhaps, the original Winter, still felt deep sorrow for losses that long since slipped her usual mind. The original one, it seemed, could only voice opinions, griefs, anger, love, and other such passionate emotions through the very corner of her eye.
While Winter, herself noticed it, when she gazed into a mirror's surface. She truly doubted the ability or interest of others to that degree as to locate and properly read such a little glimmer in her gaze. But, in all actuality, she supposed nothing terrible would occur if the other could, in fact, see and read such. For it reflected on emotions that felt foriegn to her at the times she was supposedly feeling them.
"What fun is that? In all actuality, of course, I doubt anyone cares the slightest for such a trivial matter." Winter so disliked to answer questions truthfully, directly, or anything of the sort! In fact, she played with others. Games, riddles, twisting conversations that wound like a maze, all of such things were glorious to her interests, fun to her eyes!
Snapping her fingers good naturedly, Winter laughed lightly at him dodging her well timed foot for tripping him. He was a bit more agile then he looked. Certainly, he did not look to stunned at the idea, or new to the movements, hence, he wasn't a very likable person to others. Laughing, Winter took a mocking bow to the new title of 'old romantic'
Yes, she supposed she quite enjoyed that sort of thing.
"A bit of flirting never hurt anyone. When it goes past that? Well, then there is always trouble!" Winter herself, always enjoyed a good flirt when others were of a handsome nature. Anything serious, however, quite threw Winter the other way, for, of course, she feared commitments.
She really honestly doubted that that would occur with this man, of course!
Doubted with with a certainty, in fact!

Re: Just a Bit of Fun // Winter
Winter mocked an exaggerated yawn "Perhaps, though, I find that often times others DESIRE to have their story be told." Winter laughed, rolling her eyes "How silly it is to imagine that not only will a stranger be interested, but that such strangers would know the right words to say to take, such secrets. But, ah, humans always had quite the little ego." Winter grinned, she of course, was nothing like these talkative humans. Her secrets were her own, she had claimed them through thousands of years of travel, and well, doing her thing. Her secrets were HERS, no one had the right to take such things, to imagine them to be trivial tales, something to add to THEIR minds, or speak casually about.
No, her secrets were claimed. They were to be KEPT, no one had any right to them but her. Only her tongue would keep them hidden, only her mind would know their tales. Truly, besides the fact, no one was interested. Naturally, she had far to many secrets to even know where to START if she even wanted to tell such tales, so, such things became a trivial matter behind her mind.
"Oh?" Winter gave a cocky grin, striding towards the man "I only dance with the best, trouble maker." Winter taunted, her pointed teeth were shown in a smirking sort of grin.
"But then again, is anyone so arrogant as to claim such, I wonder?"
