Loki Laufeyson/Odinson BasicInfo_zpsb216388c
Full Name: Loki Laufeyson (formerly Odinson)
Nicknames: Liesmith, Trickster, Silvertounge, King of Midgard, King of Asgard
Species: Asgardian Frost Giant
Age: Around 1300 years
Occupation: God of Mischief and lies
Home Town: Asgard

Loki Laufeyson/Odinson Personality_zpsc181d6ed
Sexual Preference: Really varies between the two extremes, Asexual and Pansexual. Loki shows no interest in pursuing a relationship but due to his ability to change forms, he has no limits on who may catch his fancy.
Marital Status: Unmarried
Personality: Loki certainly has a lot of this. So it is best to start at the beginning - which is his what he is most known for, his mischievous side. Even as a child, Loki was one for pulling pranks and making jokes. Of course, in the days of his youth, such pranks were less serious in nature and fairly safe. Of course, age matures all things and time has lead for his mischievous ways to become more hostile and dangerous; especially for others. The cause of behind the increase of malice in his actions is because he found out about his true heritage and it changed his whole entire look on things.

One of the things that Loki holds in high regard is self-preservation and also being self-serving and he often leads his life this way, with every action he takes serving himself, even if it may appear that he is trying to do something for others. It is his cunning that helps get Loki through all the many difficult situations that he has faced (or indeed, his cunning that has put him in situations that he needs to get out of).

Despite his more darker side, Loki does have a lighter, more hidden side. He is rather attached (more than he would like to admit) to his adopted mother, Frigga and generally cares about her health and opinion of him. In contrast, he shares little concern for that of his adopted male relatives, having attempted to kill his adopted brother on several occasions and very rarely showing any sign of worry for his father in recent times.

Loki Laufeyson/Odinson Appearance_zps4a095d61
Ethnicity: Jotun
Hair Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Green
Distinguishing Features: As a being, Loki stands out from the crowd, his face is long and somewhat gaunt and his skin seems pale when compared to his black hair and bright green eyes. But the most noticible thing that draws attention to Loki is his dress sense - even when dressed in Midgardian clothing he differs quiet obviously. His choice of Midguardian wear is a suit with a scar and like always, he tends to wear black and green although white can also be seen. In his Asgardian wear, Loki has taken to wearing a five tailed black leather coat with green linning and gold lines on the tails. This is worn over a black sleeved tunic with green arms. He also dons a black brest plate with a golden 'necklace' of sorts although one should not refer to it as such - it's just decorative. There is some scale armour on the sides of his legs and a minimal amount of chain armour on his tunic.
Face Claim: Tom Hiddleston

Loki Laufeyson/Odinson Skillsandpowers_zps847298ff
Skills and Talents:  A skilled liar, his ability to lie and manipulate others is something that Loki heavily relies on and he does not simply hide the truth with words but also with actions. He is perfectly capable of using body language and a wide rane of acting skills to convince others of his own truth.

Loki is skilled in the finer arts of both magic and using knives in combat. He has been able to deal with several enemies (including Frost Giants) using only these abilities and has assisted others who, despite the use of their weapons, required assistance with facing their foes.

Like other Asgardians, Loki has a superhuman abilities, namely increased strength, speed and agility. Of course, Loki does not consider these skills or talents but no more strange than a mortal might consider their own strength.

Another feature that Loki has due to his heritage is the fact that he is not bothered by cold temperatures (including temperatures that induce frost bite withing seconds of contact) and he can manipulate the Casket of Ancient Winters to freeze opponents although this leaves him in his Jotun form for a few seconds.
Powers: Magic - This is Loki's primary skill, which he commonly uses to help him in situations. This includes the making of illusions, magical knives, transforming objects into creatures, changing his own form, changing the form of others. It also expands to bring mist to hide himself and others and so Loki can presumably have some control over the weather. There is never a stated cap on his magic but it is safe to assume that the energy has to come from Loki himself and so must be used wisely (hence his general preference for illusions and magical daggers - or even real ones - in combat situations).

Loki Laufeyson/Odinson History_zps2ddf5b86
Family

  • Parents: Laufey (Birth father), Odin (Adopted Father), Frigga (Adopted mother)
  • Siblings: Thor (Adopted Brother)
  • Other Important Figures: Sif, Hogun, Frandral, Volstagg, Thanos, The Avengers (Pesky heroes)

History: Stolen from his birth parents (who hid him as he was a runt among the other giants), Loki was raised as a son of Odin and Frigga with Thor as a brother. His younger life was as peaceful and idyllic as was possible for culture similar to that of the Norsemen on Midgard. There was plenty of time of training in the arts of war but Loki found his calling in that of magic and the other more subtle arts that were more commonly looked over by others. Despite being different from others of his age, Loki shared a rivalship with Thor over who would be the one to receive the throne and he was to be sorely disappointed with the final choice. As a prince of Asgard, Loki did attend his share of battles with Thor, Sif and the Warriors Three along with countless others.

The real wedge that came between Loki and Thor was when his 'brother' was announced as the future king. Believing that his brother would be an unfit king and fueled by jealously, Loki managed to convince a few Jotuns to sneak into Asgard by giving them knowledge of the secret paths to Asgard and it's treasury. Of course, their attempt at getting the Casket of Ancient Winters was doomed to fail but Loki knew that this was all that he needed to stop Thor's coronation and it did more than that.

Because of Loki's actions, Thor was encouraged to invade Jotunheim and he dragged along with him Loki, Sif and the Warriors Three. Concerned for his life (and also those of his companions), Loki told a guard to inform Odin of Thor's plans. His game of destroying Thor's big day had gone too far and it needed to be stopped. Unfortunately the six of them did make it to Jotunheim where they also managed to escape a battle but an insult from Laufey directed towards Thor meant that conflict was inevitable and Loki helped to protect his fellow Asgardians in this fight. It was also during this fight that he first became aware that he may not be who he had always believed himself to be. For when a Frost Giant touched him, he did not suffer from frost bite but his skin turned blue and cold, like that of the creature who had touched him.

Finally, they did manage to escape the icy realm, thanks to the intervention of Odin who then in a fit of rage banished Thor to Midguard. Left alone with his doubts, Loki searched for answers, becoming more distanced and angry with others. While the Warriors Three and Sif conversed, Loki chose to remain more silent apart from his few remarks about how he had saved their lives (receiving no gratitude in response) and refusing their suggestions that he should try and change Odin's mind about Thor's punishment.

He did not confront Odin until after he had gone to investigate to himself, an action which involved going into the vaults and taking the Casket of Ancient Winters. Indeed, it was Odin who came to Loki who then questioned his heritage. It was a turning point in Loki's life as he had grown up with the stories about how Frost Giants were monsters. It shattered his whole existence and for some time, he was still struggling with the after effects of this revelation. Having shouted at Odin in complaint of how his identity was kept a secret, Loki found the man he had considered his father falling into the Odinsleep. Concern override his anger and he called for guards.

With Thor banished and Odin in the Odinsleep, Loki was made the temporary ruler of Asgard, something he had desired but now it seemed so strange considering what he had just found out about himself. However, he did adapt quickly to this and took steps to ensure that the throne would fall to him. This included convincing Laufey to come into Asgard and the demise of his adopted brother (which was only because Sif and the Warriors Three intended to bring him back for some unfathomable reason). Having killed his birth father (thus renouncing that part of him and meaning that he should have a logical shot at the throne despite his heritage - in his mind at least), Loki proved his loyalty to his adopted family. Or so it would seem if Thor hadn't survived.

Quickly taking action, Loki managed to blast Thor back and get all the way to the bifrost where he set the bridge between Asgard and Jotunheim up and froze the whole system so no one might stop him destroying his birth people. It was here that Thor confronted him in a battle where both brothers showed that their recent adventures had changed their lives dramatically. Demanding to fight Thor, Loki proved to be the worse in combat as he was pinned down by Mjollnir despite all his tricks. Then his plan was also foiled by Thor who destroyed the bifrost. In an attempt to stop him, Loki had tried to stab his brother but the bridge exploded just before he could land the fatal blow.

Both brothers were sent off the edge and would have fallen together if Odin had not stopped them. There, Loki informed his adopted family that he was trying to do this for his father and that he was trying to prove himself a worth son. But Odin told him that it could not be that way and seeing no other option, Loki let go and fell into the remains of the bifrost.

It was through the bifrost that Loki ended up with his allegiance to Thanos and the Chitauri. Getting to Midgard through the tesseract, Loki quickly took possession of the object along with several minds including that of Eric Selvig and Clint Barton. His new intent was to take over Midgard - the realm that his adopted brother loved so much. If he could not rule Asgard, then why not these mortals who bickered amongst themselves and slaughtered each other. The Chitauri had been promised as warriors for him if he were to hand over the tesseract and Loki intended to get this done with a little bit of a detour.

Said detour was his attempt to get the team of heroes that SHIELD was assembling to hate each other and so stop them defeating him. As well as this, Loki was aware that if they did end up working together anyway, this would be useful as it would mean that if there were any threats to him on a grand scale (Threats that would also concern Midgard), then they could provide a useful ally (even if they might need a bit of prodding).

His attempt to take over Midgard did leave him in the custody of the mortals who then temporarily lost him to that of Thor's who still laboured under the delusion that they were still brothers and that nothing had changed. Then it was back to the Midgardians and their flying aircraft carrier and spending time inside a cage that was designed for the very beast that he intended to unleash. Everything went to plan and Loki soon was back in freedom and dropping Thor out of the falling vehicle while Loki made his escape and set up the portal above Stark Towers.

After that there was a lot of fighting with only a few noteworthy features. Thor was stabbed by Loki, the Hulk (The Avengers' big green pet) managed to take out Loki and the war was lost. Loki never did receive the drink that Tony Stark offered him and was instead gagged as Thor forced Loki to return to Asgard and face whatever justice will be dealt out.

How You Found Us: Advert on Magic-Gone-Astray

Roleplay Sample: To say that he got on well with his family, adopted or otherwise would be an understatement. The same could be said about his enjoyment of his current situation. Whiling away the hours as he waited for his trial and verdict.

So dull. So tedious.

All he had tried to do was subjugate the mortals - why did that mean he should be thrown into a prison and left to rot? There was a time when they had been worshiped as gods and that right had not left, why should it? Yet for some reason his actions deserved punishment. Looking back on it, it may make some sense and his attempt at destroying Jotunheim would probably feature on the list of things against him. While battle never seemed to be frowned upon, genocide was not too popular.

Loki sighed. They would just never understand. Knowing his luck, he would be fated for the block. Green eyes flickered back and forth across his prison. Well, if they were going to take their time sentencing him, then he might as well escape while they all had more important things to do.

There was a guard on him - always replaced every few hours so that would have to be something to deal with. Then there was the material that made up his confides. Impossible to break, it attacked the body if one tried to push through it but magic might be able to effect it. The only concern was that it might set off warnings.

Then he also had to consider whether it was better for him to stay in here and wait for the inevitable. Because Asgard would need him and if he could manipulate those who freed him then he may be able to get in a good light. His current situation was, after all, not the best. He was without allies and he had enemies. A dangerous position to be in. Here, he was at least safe. Decisions. Green eyes lazily closed as Loki stared out of his confides before turning to sit down. He could wait. He would wait.

Ah, Mr Loki. We finally meet. I've heard ever so much about you and an employer of mine is a huge fan of your whole "let's take over Earth" scheme. I'd say that it was a shame that it didn't work, but I like my freedom too much to be sad about that failure. Your brother will be happy to see you again though, I should wager.

Excuse me while I squee for a moment. Loki is definitely one of my favourite villains. He's so amazing :3 Anyways! Extremely well-written bio and wonderful rp sample. You've been accepted and are now free to start rping Smile Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
